Ideal Day | YQ Wheat | Wheat Beer Last Chance! BBF 31/10/24

Made with lots and lots of the fantastic regeneratively grown wheat from farmer Fred Price in Somerset. This wheat is grown with minimal soil disturbance and no inputs of chemicals like herbicides and pesticides etc. YQ is a polycultural wheat population, this means lots of different types of wheat are sown and grown together, they cross pollinate, the seed is harvested and resown year after year. With a giant pool of diversity the wheat is resilient and doesnt require the same chemically enhanced grown as a standard wheat. We think what Fred and other farmers are doing with work like this which we want to champion. Simply put, the more we make using their wheat the more land they can put into regenerative agriculture.

This beer is lovely and soft, pillowy wheat with much more sweetness than our beer usually have. Very fruity ester characteristics from the co-fermenting yeast strains. As with our other beers we use floor malted, south west heritage malted barley and single farm UK grown hops.
