Despite being sixteen years old, The Kernel are more than maintaining their place at the forefront of the UK scene, thanks in no small part to a continual pushing of the boundaries alongside refining an already impeccably balanced output.

In fact, their omnipresence across London, and Europe from cornershop to craft festival, has led many to remark there are only three certainties in life: death, taxes, and The Kernel.

Now with an ever-growing array of hop-forward wonders, complex Saisons, crispy Lagers, and historical, decadent Stouts, they're both the purists and the people's favourites. With plenty more additions joining their frankly faultless portfolio recently, it's a great excuse to champion a brewery always in need of more recognition!

Just where to start though?! Their Augustiner Helles-esque Lagerbier should need no introduction by now. Bringing a soft spiciness and subtle, herb aromas, this has a dry, moreish finish that always leaves you wanting more.

Of course, we also have fresh batches of their impeccably balanced Table Beer, and Pale Ale in tow. Pictured here is their Egger's Special variety, a distinct variety of Riwaka bred exclusively with bright savoury citrus and tropical mango notes.

Continuing with their green goodness, the NZ IPA 2025 features three freshly harvested hops for diesel-grapefruity characteristics, and passion fruit aromas with that classically clean Kernel finish.

Touching on their traditional triumphs, no one really does it better, as proved in their dangerously drinkable London Porter, jammy, spice-laden London Brick Red Rye Ale, or the nostalgic and earthy Bitter Simonds 1880.

Don't forget about their impeccable Biere De Saison series too, which feels more akin to Lambic than anything else, with two new cherry variants promising funky, fruit-infused greatness.
