Podere Sassi is located in Tarano (Rieti) in Lazio, precisely on the western edge of the Sabine Mountains, sheltered by the Lazio pre-Apennines and right on the border with Umbria. Their land is located at an altitude of about 300 m s.l.m. and the vineyards have their roots on soils characterized by a succession of clays, sand, silt from the Plio-Pleistocene period. All their wines are the result of the work of the hands in the vineyard and in the cellar, without any other external intervention. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, no temperature control, no enzymes or yeast added, the wine is not filtered, no sulfur dioxide is added.
‘A Riveder Le Stelle’ is a blend of Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo, given a longer maceration of around three weeks before resting in concrete. The result is a wine of real depth and resonance – dark, juicy black cherry and plum layered with spice, earth and a gentle herbal lift. Structured yet vibrant, it’s a soulful red that carries both intensity and freshness, its name evoking the promise of seeing the stars again.
