Verdant | Putty 2026 | DIPA Max 2 PP

As you probably already know, we initially envisioned Putty as a distinctive beer, crafted for the debut of the Hop City festival back in 2017. We aimed to create something that could proudly stand alongside the heavyweights in the hazy beer world and create some hype for our Verdant Brewing Co... and it certainly did! Within a few hours, we were completely sold out, and the demand persisted. It was clear that we had to brew it again.

Since that inaugural success, Putty has been an annual release in January, and of course, we've stuck to the original recipe for this Double IPA. It features a malt base of Golden Promise, a higher-than-normal proportion of wheat malt, along with generous amounts of oats and flaked wheat to provide a well-rounded flavour. The water profile is delicately soft, and we employ substantial whirlpool additions of Galaxy, Mosaic, and Azacca hops. This is followed by an extensive dry hop, with equal parts Mosaic/Galaxy and slightly less Azacca.

Every year, our brewers go the extra mile to create a DIPA that’s perfectly balanced yet bursting with flavour. This year’s brew is no exception. Expect juicy notes of mango, passionfruit, and peach, complemented by subtle hints of resinous pine. It’s everything you love about Putty.
